I believe that a trusting, collaborative, therapeutic relationship is the key to you achieving your goals through counselling.
Being able to form a partnership where you feel safe and supported, is often the starting point for you to be able to understand and work through the difficulties you may be facing and the range of emotions these challenges may bring up.
It's my belief that everyone is the expert in their own world and that my role as a counsellor, is to be alongside you as you explore this world, safe in the knowledge that I will be there, without judgement and without an agenda of my own.
My primary training is in Person Centred Counselling and this approach puts you, the client as the focus and the very centre of the therapeutic relationship.
I won't direct you in what you should talk about, allowing you to determine the direction and content of the sessions. I will however help you focus in on thoughts and emotions that seem significant.
I really feel that a one-size-fits-all approach is not beneficial and am flexible and adaptable in my approach to help you get the most from your counselling.
The aim is to find and address the root causes of the issues you are facing, as this lays the foundation for lasting change.

If we agree to work together, I will arrange a short, initial session where we can meet each other and go through the client - counsellor working agreement.
